ID.me defines a First Responder as an active or retired employee of an emergency service who is likely to be among the first people to physically arrive at the scene of an emergency.
Eligible to verify
You are eligible to verify as a First Responder if your occupation is any of the following:
Law Enforcement Officers
- Police Officers (Federal, State, and Local)—Active & Retired
- Sheriff / Sheriff's Deputy
- Correctional Officer (Private, for-profit correctional institutions also acceptable)
- State Trooper
- Federal Law Enforcement Officer (for example, Customs & Border Protection Officer, Air Marshal, etc.)
- Park Police & Park Rangers
- Pretrial Services Officers
- Probation & Parole Officers
- Bridge & Tunnel Officers
- Detention Officers (Private, for-profit correctional institutions also acceptable)
